Operation and Maintenance

The KSA-CORS (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Continuously Operating Reference Station) is a national network of continuously operating GNSS stations streaming GNSS data in real-time to General Authority for Survey and Geospatial. NOVAsat has implemented CORS Phase -1 for GASGI. It consists of below components.

KSACORS User Support

NOVAsat has provided On Call Support for RTK users and troubleshoot the issues raised related to the user information and logon details.

Solutions

Station Monumentation (Civil)

Ground Type Station (5m x 5m) is particularly suitable for monitoring crustal movement and earth deformation. They are also useful for RTK positioning and corrections. The pillar at proposed height of 2.3m is set in the center to avoid any multipath effects from the fence or any potential reflector along the zero-degree antenna mask. The station is secured with chain-link fence. b) Roof Type Station will be mounted on selected buildings preferably government-owned for easy access and security.

Antenna Mount

It consists of a hot-dipped galvanized top plate mounted on top of the concrete monument to mount the SECO 2072 series antenna adapter. SECO 2072 series which is an adjustable tilt monument mount will be used in all References Stations. There will be 2 types of antennas Monumentation to be used.
1. Surface monumentation will be installed on roof top at locations where there are no suitable walls for wall type monumentation.
2. Antenna Mount consisting of a hot-dipped galvanized three-legged top plate is mounted on top of the monument to mount the SECO 2072-33 antenna adapter.

Communication Interface

There will be wireless terrestrial communication technologies will be used at the CORS to send the Data to NCC. If wireless terrestrial communication is not available, satellite communication system will be deployed at the CORS.

This system will allow the network operators to monitor the status and status and state of health of the CORS equipment, and remotely act on them.
